Commercial Break

You know, sometimes I feel like the only way I'll get into heaven is by hanging onto someone else's coat tails and refusing to let go.

Faulty theology, I know. Let's not get into that.

Those of you who know what I do for a living will find this a tad ironic. Just so you know, I do too. I think my life is living breathing walking proof that God has a sense of humour. At least, I laugh. And somehow I think God let's out a chuckle or two too.

To segue in a different direction:

Anyone in their late thirties out there? If there is, are you increasingly experiencing the 'blurt effect'? (© R, 2008.)

You know, where you find yourself expressing thoughts you used to think but wouldn't allow yourself to share? And no, this is not a euphemism for rude. It's just, you know, a growing tendency to call it like it is.

I tell ya, these are the best of times.

(I'm high on I don't know what, and I still have a termpaper to complete. By tonight. Yikes.)

That would be me - 38 and finally speaking my mind. I thought it was called "finding my voice."

Good luck on your term paper.

You just may be entering the next phase of life, from a psychological standpoint anyway....

Ben,

Finding your voice, yeah, I can see how. Sometimes though, I'm not looking to put it all out there, but then I listen to myself and next thing I know, I've spilled the spiel.

Mwangi, next phase alright. Probably received an early 40 b'day present from up above. SO not complaining.

36 cannot be 'early thirties' any longer, can it? yeah, I am with you. I am at the stage where I am now saying, 'cut out the B------t Nothing but the bare truth! (or Blurt Effect!)And it is quite a relief, I feel like I was living in the shadows before, and suddenly, I am out in the open, 'seen and heard' Ok, now i am blurbing on your space... But 40 is still a good distance away...

blurt effect;), I guess its a good thing when we can be ourselves,no masks , no shadows.on God having a sense of humour, I read a book recently that said God is the happiest, most joyful being, ermmm ever.I guess humour is a byproduct.I had never really thought about him that way. Life must be very interesting...do share!
