I think I'm finally able to articulate to myself what is wrong with God:
He loves everybody, not just me.
So, if He's throwing grace and mercy around, I'm not the only one who's going to catch a break now, am I?
Byaggh.
I want a God who belongs exclusively to me.
Or, at least, who has me at the very top of His list of priorities.
Me and only me.
Ok, if you insist, me and all my beloved.
But He can't be spending all His time trying to balance what's good for me with what's good for the universe and everything and everyone in it.
I bet my saying that made you gasp.
Oh Well.
(Didn't you ever feel that way?)

I have never thought of it that way because it makes my own pride too obvious. I think you are correct.
...and I so wish I wasn't... but, I look inside of me, and that is what I see. sometimes.
But alas we are all unique and special.....just like everybody else
God is a manufactured concept which human beings have created in order to try to understand the magnitude of this tiny planet that we exist on.
Too many people are profiteering from beliefs in the supernatural from priests and popes to Oprah and Deepak Chopra all gaining from beliefs.
I don't believe and I have freed myself from the restraints of religion and all forms of the supernatural and it feels great! Try it. We don't need god/gods. We are greater without it/them.
There! - Did you gasp!
